Dear Patients of Dr. Bothwell,
My name is Brad Henderson, PA-C, and I had the privilege of working as the Physician Assistant to the late Jim Bothwell, MD, orthopedic surgeon. I am writing to share the difficult news that Dr. Bothwell passed away on March 11, 2026, following a two-year battle with cancer. This is a profound loss, and I know many of you share in the sadness. He was not only an exceptional surgeon, but also a compassionate physician, a respected colleague, and a dear friend. His impact on his patients and the medical community was truly remarkable, and he will be deeply missed.
With the closing of Dr. Bothwell’s practice, you are now faced with important decisions regarding your ongoing orthopedic care. After nearly 20 years of knowing Dr. Bothwell, and having spent the majority of my career working alongside him — including 14 years in orthopedic surgery — I have developed a deep appreciation for the high standard of care, expertise, and personal connection that defined our practice. With that standard in mind, I carefully evaluated several orthopedic groups before selecting The Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Institute ( OSMI ) as my new professional home. I am confident that OSMI shares the same commitment to excellence, accessibility, and compassionate patient care that you experienced in our previous practice.
You have many options for orthopedic care in our community. However, if you would value continuity of care with me, I would be honored to continue serving you at OSMI. I will begin seeing patients starting April 16 in Fort Worth and Willow Park, and as a former patient of Dr. Bothwell, you will have expedited access to me and the OSMI surgeons — many of whom knew and respected Dr. Bothwell as both a colleague and a friend.
