Our staff at OSMI wish to promote the health and safety of young athletes in training and competition. The Preparticipation Physical Evaluation provides a medical background on which physical activity decisions will be made by the individual athlete’s physician or the team physician and associated medical staff.
The Preparticipation Physical Evaluation was developed as a guide by the American Academy of Family Physicians, American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and American Osteopathic Academy of Sports.
OSMI only goes out to schools to perform sports physicals as a service. The physicals are not done in our regular office practice. However, you can learn more about Preparticipation Sports Physicals goals, objectives, timing, setting, and structure of the exam; details the history, physical examination, and clearance considerations.
